We braved the crowds to pay our respects to MJ – and realised America is the land of capitalism indeed: we have never seen faster T-shirt printing. Within 24 hours, people were on the streets hawking RIP MJ t-shirts. Not the most tasteful thing to capitalise on, but the uglier side of capitalism aside – we discovered two MJ stars!
MJ’s namesake lies along Franklin Avenue on the Walk of Fame and he is/was apparently a radio presenter (attested to by a black guy hanging around who kept chuckling at misguided tourists). Google searches to verify Mr. Less-Famous-Jackson’s identity was futile as the search engine spewed up page after page about the King of Pop instead. If he be dead, may his soul rest in peace too. If not, well..at least those who stumble upon you accidentally will know more about you now.
